The Plugins Atelier standard

What happens after you install.

A plugin does not end when it starts working. This is the standard we require before publishing a Plugins Atelier product.

The plugins in the catalogue are in development. Before each product is published, its page must state its support scope and verified compatibility. This standard does not by itself establish that a plugin is available.

Five commitments

Start with control

Installation should not introduce important changes by surprise.

  • Safe by default

The plugin starts from safe defaults and explains what still needs to be configured before it affects customers.

  • The interface explains the task

Basic setup is completed inside the plugin in understandable language. Documentation adds depth; it does not compensate for a confusing interface.

  • Check before publishing

Before a feature goes live, you can confirm what is active and how it will affect the store through the check that best fits that product.

Update without starting over

Continuity matters more than an artificial release cadence.

  • Settings stay in place

Updates preserve existing settings and automate the migrations they require. They do not silently redefine working behaviour.

  • Compatibility is stated

Every plugin declares the versions and environments it supports. An untested integration is not presented as compatible by default.

  • Changes are readable

Every release explains what changed, who it affects and whether the merchant needs to take action.

  • Work stays in its place

A plugin loads and runs only what it needs in the contexts where it participates. The affected WooCommerce journeys are checked before release.

Problems have an owner

A failed operation should not leave the merchant reconstructing what happened.

  • Failures are explicit

If an operation cannot finish, the plugin does not pretend it succeeded or hide a partial state. It keeps the safest possible state and explains the next step.

  • Support conditions are concrete

Support is asynchronous and by email. Free includes documentation, diagnostics and updates; we handle reproducible bugs and security reports by email. An active Pro licence adds individual troubleshooting within published compatibility.

  • First response is not resolution

Our target is a first response within two business days; this is not a resolution deadline. Resolving an issue may require reproduction, more information or coordination with a third party.

  • Security takes priority

We accept security reports by email for both Free and Pro. The first-response target is two business days, without promising a resolution deadline.

Respect the store it works in

The plugin is a guest inside an operating business.

  • No hidden data flows

The plugins send no product telemetry. Free works without depending on our platform. Refunds are processed through the payment gateway configured in WooCommerce. Pro contacts our services only when needed for accounts, licensing, security, support and updates. These services receive no orders, customer data, carts or store content. Providers may process technical metadata to route and protect these communications; we process the minimum account and commercial relationship data.

  • Accessible interfaces

Plugin-owned interfaces aim for WCAG 2.2 AA and follow accessible WordPress and WooCommerce patterns for keyboard, focus, labels, errors and colour.

  • English and Spanish from day one

Every plugin is published in both languages and its strings are prepared for additional translations through the WordPress system.

Leave without a remote switch

Ending a licence should not artificially break local software.

  • A lapsed licence does not disable the plugin

Installed Pro keeps working. When the paid period ends, ordinary downloads and updates and the support included in the licence end. We do not remotely disable its local features.

  • Security fixes remain accessible

Releases we publish and classify as security fixes for your product remain available even without renewal. This does not mean maintaining old versions indefinitely or publishing patches without limit.

  • Deactivation is not deletion

Deactivation keeps data. On uninstall, you can preserve settings for a future reinstall or remove data created exclusively by the plugin.

Published limits

Precision also means saying what is not promised.

An active Pro licence includes individual help by email with installation, configuration, errors and incompatibilities within published compatibility. For Free, email is limited to reproducible bugs and security. Product requests do not become roadmap commitments.

  • No compatibility with every possible environment.
  • Support does not include calls, chat, store access, credentials, custom development, consulting or emergency response.
  • No promise of constant updates or maintenance forever.
